Introduction

The Sun Certification Program in Unix Administration provides state-of-art training and a firm theoretical and practical understanding of Unix Operation System, Unix Administration part I and II.  This certification gets any student ready to meet the corporate challenge.  Students learn the languages and practice the skills that businesses require.  The Unix program is designed by industry representatives to make sure that it covers a full range of subjects, from the basics of scripts to advanced concepts of Operating Systems and Administration. This program requires successful completion of Unix Operating System, Unix Administration Primer and Advanced.

Fundamentals of Solaris[tm] Operating Environment for Sys Administrators:

The Fundamentals of Solaris[tm] Operating Environment for System Administrators course teaches you how to use UNIXᆴ operating system commands and basic Solaris Operating Environment commands. The class is for new users of the Solaris environment. You will learn fundamental command-line features of the Solaris Operating Environment including file system navigation, file permissions, the vi text editor, command shells, and basic network use.

Solaris[tm] System Administration I:

The Solaris[tm] Operating Environment System Administration I course provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform these essential system administration tasks in the Solaris Operating Environment.

Instructional topics include the essential tasks of standalone installation, file system management, backup procedures, process control, user administration, and device management.

Solaris[tm] System Administration II:

The Solaris[tm]  Operating Environment System Administration II course provides students with the skills necessary to administer Sun[tm] systems running the Solaris  Operating Environment in a network environment. Students are taught how to maintain Sun systems, configure and troubleshoot the NFS, and configure the Network Information System (NIS) environment.
